All The Truth That's In Me About book: I arrive in town, panting, my pail banging my shin.A huddle of villagers surrounds the pillory on the common. This is where we shame our sinners, but now Clyde Aldrus stands upon its platform, repeating his are ships on the horizon, twenty miles east. All the Truth That’s In Me excerpt. You didn’t come. I waited all evening in the willow tree, with gnats buzzing in my face and sap sticking in my hair, watching for you to return from town. I know you went to town tonight. I heard you ask Mr. Johnson after church if you could pay a call on him this evening. You must want to borrow his ox team.

It was beautifully written. The story was thoughtfully planned. Judith is one of the most realistic characters I’ve read in a long time. Illiterate, maimed, cursed, doomed to be an outsider but always and forever in love with Lucas Whiting, Judith finds a way to tell her story, saying, “I don’t believe in miracles, but if the need is great, a girl might make her own miracle,” and as her story unfolds, all the truth that’s in her is revealed.
The book features six sections on career, race, relationships, womanhood, empowerment and even one all about how everyone is “weird.” Seales calls herself a “crusader of the truth” and in the book she told her truth and hopes her book inspires other people to speak their truths. Author Julie Berry’s forthcoming book All the Truth That’s in Me (Viking, Sept.), her first YA effort, features a girl who cannot speak. But the title has generated so much in-house enthusiasm.
